Define stroke

1 answer

A stroke is a medical condition that occurs when blood flow to the brain is disrupted, resulting in the death of brain cells. This disruption of blood flow can be caused by a blockage in a blood vessel (ischemic stroke) or by the rupturing of a blood vessel in the brain (hemorrhagic stroke). Strokes can cause various symptoms, including sudden weakness or numbness on one side of the body, difficulty speaking or understanding speech, vision problems, dizziness, and severe headache. Strokes require immediate medical attention as they can lead to long-term disability or even death.
