is it √(x^2-25) = x-1 ?
if so , then square both sides
x^2 - 25 = x^2 - 2x + 1
2x = 26
x = 13
since we squared our answer has to be checked
if x=13
LS = √(169-25) = √144 = 12
RS = 13-1 = 12
so x=13
if so , then square both sides
