This webpage discusses how to write about literature -- and almost everything here applies to writing about art works, too.
1. Be sure you plan carefully how you'll organize your thoughts. Do not start writing paragraphs until you have a thesis statement and an outline all figured out. Don't try to "wing" this or write "by the seat of your pants"!
2. Write the rough draft of the body paragraphs once the outline is completed.
3. After the body of the paper is written and revised and edited, then it's time to deal with the introduction -- and after that, the conclusion.
4. Revise, revise, revise; proofread, proofread, proofread.
