A) p-16m + 16 I say its A or B
B) p-8m – 4
C) p-11m – 4

after the p there is suppose to be a ^ for the power to sign...

OK, the numerator is

(p^(-4+3m))^-4 or p^(16-12m)
and the denominator is
p^4m

so the fraction becomes...
p^(16-16m) which is A

check my work.

this problem has been posted about 3 times in the last couple of days.

due to a lack of brackets, it was always too confusing to determine the order of operations.
Looking at your answers, I can finally conclude you meant

(p<sup>-4+m</sup> p<sup>2m</sup>)<sup>-4</sup> / (p<sup>-4</sup>)<sup>-m</sup>

= (p<sup>-4+3m</sup>)<sup>-4</sup> / p<sup>4m</sup>

= p<sup>16-12m</sup> / p<sup>4m</sup>

= p<sup>16-16m</sup>
which is A

Ok but the answer is typed incorectly choice A is

p^-16+16 not

= p^16-16m

Is it the same thing? I don't know, but my first choice was A. I still do not understand how

(p-4+m p2m)-4 / (p-4)-m

= (p-4+3m)-4 / p4m

= p^16-12m / p^4m

where does the 12 fit in? and how does the answer end up as A?

= p16-16m

we used three basic rules

1. (a<sup>x</sup>)(a<sup>y</sup>) = a<sup>x+y</sup>

2. (a<sup>x</sup>)/(a<sup>y</sup>) = a<sup>x-y</sup>

3. (a<sup>x</sup>)<sup>y</sup> = a<sup>xy</sup>

to attempt questions such as the one above without knowing those rules would be futile.
