Point (k,3) lies on the line whose equation is x-2y=-2. What is the value of k?
a.-8
b.-6
c.6
d.8
10 answers
its D
Why is it D?
actually, i wrote the problem wrong, its not D
let me check my answer real quick
let me check my answer real quick
i keep getting 4, so i don't know whats going on
first i changed the equation to slope intercept form and then plugged in the point
and then i realized you can just plug in the point in the form that its in
but either way you get four
because the "k" actually symbolizes the "x"
so when you plug it in you get this
x-2(3)=-2
x-6=-2
then add six to both sides
x=4

i think you're right..thank you
haha were you debating between those four answers or were they given to you
because you had me going there for a second i was like whattt the heck!

no, i've just decided that there's something wrong with this question.
good guess
Very simple question
If the point (k,3) lies on the line whose equation is x-2y=-2 then it must satisfy the equation, so
k - 6 = -2
k = -2+6 = 4
If the point (k,3) lies on the line whose equation is x-2y=-2 then it must satisfy the equation, so
k - 6 = -2
k = -2+6 = 4
The answer is -8
