We are learning probability and can you please check my answer.
Question: Enrique has 3 dimes, 2 quarters, and 5 nickels in his pocket. He takes one coin from his pocket at random. What is the probability that the coin is either a dime or a nickel?
My answer is 8:10 which equals 4:5

The prob(dime or nickel) = 8/10 = 4/5
Probability is normally expressed as a fraction between 0 and 1
your wrote your answer in ratio form.
Normally odds are expressed that way.
e.g. suppose the odds in favour of some event is given as 4:5
that means the prob of that event happening is 4/9 and the prob of that event NOT happening is 5/9.
I don't know at what grade level you are studying probability, but I thought it was worth clearing up.
