Edward had 12 more stamps than Pete. After Pete gave Edward 15 stamps, Edward had twice as many stamps as Pete. How many stamps did Pete have in the end?

e = p+12
e+15 = 2(p-15)
so,
p=57
so Pete wound up with 57-15=42
