A quarterback throws a football at 21 m/s at a certain angle above the horizontal. If it took the ball 3.2 s to reach the top of its path, how long was it in the air?

the vertical speed is
v = 21 sinθ - 9.81t
so, when it is zero,
t = (21 sinθ)/9.81 seconds
v = 21 sinθ - 9.81t
