A right square pyramid has a surface area of 50.75 square inches and a base length of 3.5 inches.
Calculate the slant height of the pyramid, to the nearest tenth. Please help
I am so confused on how to isolate the s variable when using the following formula for a pyramid. (s = slant height)
SA: 50.75 = 4(s * 3.5/2) + 4(3.5*1.75/2)

first, evaluate the numbers where possible.
4(s * 3.5/2) + 4(3.5*1.75/2) = 50.75
7s + 12.25 = 50.75
and now it's easy
4(s * 3.5/2) + 4(3.5*1.75/2) = 50.75
7s + 12.25 = 50.75
and now it's easy
