since √3 = 3^(1/2)
log<sub><sub>√3</sub></sub>1728 = 2log<sub><sub>3</sub></sub>1728
now, 1728 = 12^3 = 2^3 * 3^3 so
2log<sub><sub>3</sub></sub>1728 = 2(log<sub><sub>3</sub></sub>2 + 3)
