when multiplying powers with the same base, keep the base and ADD the
exponents.
(5^2)(5^-1)(5^3)
= 5^(2-1+3)
= 5^4
exponents.
(5^2)(5^-1)(5^3)
= 5^(2-1+3)
= 5^4
