Filled in the given information on a Venn diagram, and was left with these
unknows:

the number for Beans and Plantain, but not rice
the number for Beans and Rice, but not Plantain
then number for Plantain and Rice but not Beans
I labeled these a, b, and c respectively, giving me these equations:
a+b+8 = 50 ---> a+b = 42 **
a+c+14 = 24 ---> a+c = 10 ***
b+c+7 = 18 ---> b+c = 11 ****

subtract *** from **
b - c = 26
add this to ****
2b = 44
b = 22 , then a = 20 and c = -10 <---- this makes no sens

Either there is a flaw in the data given, or else I did not interpret the
question correctly.
