-Place the mixture in a beaker and cover it with a watch glass.
-Heat the mixture. Iodine vapour collects on the watch glass leaving lead sulphate in the beaker.
-Stop heating when there is no further change.
-Remove the watch glass and allow it to cool for solid iodine deposits to be formed on the watch glass.
-Wash lead sulphate with distilled water and dry it between two filter papers.
