the third, fourth and fifth term of GP ar (k+3), (k+8) and (k+8) respectively. find the value of k hence determine the sum of the first 8 terms of progression

3rd term is k+8, and the 4th term is k+8

which means r = 1, and that makes all the terms the same
but your 3rd term of k+3 contradicts that, so .....
