On a map whose scale is 1:50000,a rectangular piece of land measures 3cm by 2cm.What is the size of this piece of land in hectares?

So the actual field is 150,000 cm by 100,000 cm
= 1500 m by 1000 m
which is 1,500,000 m^2

since 1 hectare = 10,000 m^2, the
number of hectares in this field = 1,500,000/10,000 = 150
