The longest piece is 40cm longer than the middle piece.

The middle piece is 70cm longer than the shortest piece.

Find the size of the:

1) Longest piece:



2) Middle piece:




3) Shortest piece:

L + M + S = 600 cm

L = M + 40

M = S + 70

substituting ... L = S + 70 + 40 = S + 110

substituting ... S + 110 + S + 70 + S = 600

solve for S , then substitute back to find L and M
