total members ---- x
voted for ice-cream ---- (6/11)x
voted for fruit --- (5/11)x
but 6x/11 =24
6x = 264
x = 44
voting for fruit = 5/11(44) = 20
total = 44
voting for ice cream = (6/11)(44) = 24
leaving 20 to vote for fruit
