If I need to put 10 cups of sugar for every 10 dozen cookies I bake, how many cups of sugar will I need if I am making 5 dozen cookies?

mathhelper
10 cups/10 dozen = x cups/5 dozen
1/1 = x/5

x = 5

Or by the "common sense method"
if it takes 10 cups to make 10 dozen,
to make 5 dozen wouldn't you need half of the 10 cups ??
