Ben and Corey each had a collection of rocks. Corey had 4/9 as many rocks as Ben. When Ben lost 35 rocks, Corey then had twice as many as Ben. How many rocks were in Ben's collection at first?

Corey's rocks --- (4/9)x or 4x/9
after the loss:
Ben had x-35
4x/9 = 2(x-35)
times 9
4x = 18(x-35)
4x = 18x - 630
-14x = -630
x = 45
