original Ben had ---- x beads
Ethan had (2/5)x = 2x/5
after purchase:
Ethan has 2x/5 + 50
Ben has x + 15
"Ethan has 50% more than Ben"
---> (2x/5 + 50) = (3/2)(x+15) ---------> 150% = 150/100 = 3/2
2x/5 + 50 = 3x/2 + 45/2
times 10, the LCD
4x + 500 = 15x + 225
11x = 275
x = 25
So at first Ethan had 2x/5 = 50/5 = 10
check:
at the start, Ben had 25 and Ethan has 10
after buying: Bed has 40 and Ethan has 60
Is 60 equal to 150% of 40 ? yes it is
