Question
A diameter of a circle has endpoints A(-4,2) and B(3,2). Find the center of the circle, radius, and write an equation for the circle.
Answers
the center is at the midpoint of AB: (-1/2,2)
the radius is 1/2 the diameter: 7/2
so now you can easily write the equation:
(x + 1/2)^2 + (y-2)^2 = (7/2)^2
the radius is 1/2 the diameter: 7/2
so now you can easily write the equation:
(x + 1/2)^2 + (y-2)^2 = (7/2)^2
Thanks so much!!! oobleck
