Let Rael have x muffins
Tim : 1.4x muffins
lost : Tim 1.4x - 1.4x * 0.2 + 0.5x (x + 1.4x * 0.2)
= 1.12x + 0.64x
= 1.76x
Rael : x + 1.4x * 0.2 - (x + 1.4x * 0.2) * 0.5
= x + 0.28x - 0.64x
= 0.64x
1.76x - 0.64x = 448
1.12x = 448
x = 400
1.4 * 400 = 560
Tim have 560 muffins at first
Tim : 1.4x muffins

Rael : x + 1.4x * 0.2 - (x + 1.4x * 0.2) * 0.5
