initial momentum of car/lion system
= 500 * 24 + 100 * 0 = 12,000 kg m/s
final momentum of car/lion system
= 500 * v + 100 * v = 600 v
There were no external forces so newton says:
600 v = 12,000
v = 120/6 = 20 sure enough
