M = D + 26

He is also 8years older than three times his daughter's age means:

M = 3 D + 8

M = M

D + 26 = 3 D + 8

Subtract D to both sides

26 = 2 D + 8

Subtract 8 to both sides

18 = 2 D

2 D = 18

D = 18 / 2 = 9 yrs
