Linear Modeling The monthly cost of driving a car depends on the number of miles driven. Lynn found that in May it cost her $380 to drive 480 mi and in June it cost her $460 to drive 800 mi.
a) What does the y-intercept represent? Include units.
b) Does a linear function give a suitable model in this situation? Why or why not? Think about the different
costs involved in owning a car.

(a) y(0) is the cost before driving any miles
(b) Since the first two words are "Linear Modeling" I would say yes. You have two points, so figure the slope and the the point-slope form of a line.
