                Fei Yen’s dog eats 8 ounces of dog food each day. Fei Yen bought a 2 kilogram bag of dog food. If 8 ounces of dog food cost $3.50, how much did he spend on the 2-kilogram bag?

    Had to look this up, but
1 kg = 35.274 ounces
so he bought 2 kg or 70.548 ounces
Number of 8 ounce parts = 70.548/8 = 8.8185
each of those parts costs $3.50, so
total cost = $30.86
or
by a simple ratio
3.50/8 = x/70.548
x = 3.5/8*70.548 = $30.86
Just go metric to avoid these silly conversion problems.
Willing to bet that the price of the 2 kg was marked on the bag.
