The ratio of teacher to students is 1 to 16. If there are 64 students, then write equal ratio to find the number of teachers needed.

teachers : students = 1 : 16 = x : 16x

so if 16x = 64
x = 4
so 4 teachers and 64 students,

(note 4:64 = 1:16)
