2x+3y=24
2x-6y=22
----------------- subtract
0 + 9 y = 2
y = 2/9
then
2 x + 2/3 = 24
6 x + 2 = 72
6 x = 70
x = 35/3
------------------------- OR : multiply first one by 2
4x+6y=48
2x-6y=22
--------------------- add
6 x = 70
x = 35/3 again ? remarkable, etc
