assuming we have:
3a + 7b = 3
1−a − 4b = 3
then the 2nd is
-a - 4b = 2
times 3:
-3a - 12b = 6
add to the first:
-5b = 9
b = -9/5
sub into 3a + 7b = 3
3a + 7(-9/5) = 3
3a = 3 + 63/5
3a = 78/5
a = 78/15 = 26/5
3a + 7b = 3
1−a − 4b = 3
then the 2nd is
-a - 4b = 2
times 3:
-3a - 12b = 6
add to the first:
-5b = 9
b = -9/5
sub into 3a + 7b = 3
3a + 7(-9/5) = 3
3a = 3 + 63/5
3a = 78/5
a = 78/15 = 26/5
