I would double the first one:
4x - 10y = -12 , now the 2nd as is ...
4x - 3y = -12
subtract them
7y = 0
y = 0
back into the original 1st
2x-5y=-6
2x - 0 = -6
x = -3
so x = -3, y = 0
do the 2nd pair by multiplying the 1st by 3, and the 2nd by 2
then subtract them and watch the mathemagics happen
