2x-3y+2=x+2y-5
y = (x+7)/5
x+2y-5=3x+y
y = 2x+5
(x+7)/5 = 2x+5
now finish it off. Solve for x, then get y
I have no idea what "S for ss2" means
y = (x+7)/5
x+2y-5=3x+y
y = 2x+5
(x+7)/5 = 2x+5
now finish it off. Solve for x, then get y
I have no idea what "S for ss2" means

equating the 1st and 2nd
2x - 3y + 2 = x + 2y - 5
x - 5y = -7
equating the 2nd and 3rd
x+2y-5 = 3x+y
2x - y = -5 or y = 2x + 5
using substitution
x - 5(2x+5) = -7
x - 10x - 25 = -7
-9x = 18
x = -2
then y = 2(-2) + 5 = 1
check in:
2x-3y+2=x+2y-5=3x+y
-4 - 3 + 2 = -2 +2 - 5 = -6 + 1
-5 = -5 = -5
