Does someone have the answers for the short essay questions? Here are the questions...
1. Plants in different environments have challenges that only they have. For example, the growth of a plant in a rain forest (e.g., an orchid) might be more affected by different things than a plant in a desert (e.g., a succulent). In three to five sentences, compare environmental challenges that could affect the photosynthetic process of a rain forest plant versus a desert plant.
2. In 3 to 5 sentences, describe the relationship between a glucose molecule and the products it makes during cellular respiration.
3. Remember the law of conservation of mass. The human body uses cellular respiration to make energy. Using the chemical equation for cellular respiration, explain how the amounts of oxygen and carbon dioxide inhaled by the lungs is different from the amounts exhaled. Explain your answer in 1-2 sentences.
4. Dragonflies are flying insects. In the summer, dragonflies can be seen perched on tree branches in an obelisk pose (i.e., a handstand position with the tip of their abdomen pointing upward). In 3β5 sentences, describe how dragonflies might control their body temperature and give reasons for why they might perch in this pose.

Alright, I have the essay answer to number 2...
Aerobic cells use glucose molecules to create ATP (energy) during cellular respiration. This process (cellular respiration) has three main stages: glycolysis, the Krebs cycle and oxidative phosphorylation. Glycolysis occurs in the cytoplasm, whereas the Krebs cycle and oxidative phosphorylation occur in the mitochondria. During glycolysis, a glucose molecule is used to produce 2 ATP, 2 NADH and 2 pyruvate.
The pyruvate is converted to acetyl CoA, which is then converted to oxaloacetate in order to enter the Krebs cycle. The Krebs cycle produces 1 ATP, 3 NADH, and 1 FADH2.
During oxidative phosphorylation, the inner mitochondrial membrane is used to create a proton (H+) gradient, which is used to drive the synthesis of more ATP molecules.
