An artillery shell is fired with an initial velocity of 450 m/s at an angle of 37° from the level ground. 1) how much time passes before the shell strikes the ground? 2) What horizontal distance does the shell travel before striking the ground?

v = 450 sin37° - 9.8t
v=0 at the top of the arc. So double that time for the full trip.

using the flight time from above, the horizontal speed is a constant
450 cos37°
and distance = speed * time, right?
