An old airplane is flying 70 m above a lake at 42 m/s. The pilot wants to drop some fish out of the window so that they land right at the middle of the lake. How far away from the middle of the lake should she release the fish?

how long does it take to fall 70m?
4.9t^2 = 70
now, since the horizontal speed is constant, she needs to release the fish
42t meters from the center
(assuming she is flying directly toward the center ...)
