In an experiment to estimate the size of an oil molecule the diameter of the oil patch was measured to be 200mm for an oil drop of radius 0.25mm.Determine the diameter of the molecule of the oil.

the diameter of the molecule is presumed to be the thickness (T) of the patch

T * π * (200 mm)^2 / 4 = 4/3 * π * (0.25 mm)^3

solve for T
