2Ca + O2 ==> 2CaO
3 mols Ca will produce how much CaO. That's
3 mols Ca x (2 mols CaO/2 mols Ca) = 3 mols CaO.
How about O2? That's
3 mols O2 x (2 mols CaO/1 mols O2) = 6 mols CaO.
So Ca is the limiting reagent and all of it will be used. O2 is the excess reagent.and some of it will not react.
