5:7 is the ratio of boys to girls
5/12 x 36
= 15 boys
so if 5/12 = 15
then 7/12 x 36
= 21 girls

5/12 x 36
= 15 boys
so if 5/12 = 15
then 7/12 x 36
= 21 girls

    anonymous 900 is right
if 5/12 of the class is boys, then
7/12 of the class are girls.
(7/12)(36) = 21
