3x^3 - 3x^2 - 36x , first I see a common factor of 3x
= 3x(x^2 - x - 12) , now a nice quadratic which you can factor in your head
=3x(x - 4)(x + 3)
= 3x(x^2 - x - 12) , now a nice quadratic which you can factor in your head
=3x(x - 4)(x + 3)
