Since you're working on the ACT, please note that <i>your</i> in your sentence should be a contraction of <b>you are -- you're</b>.

Direct objects receive the action of the verb.

Joe hit <u>Bob</u>.

Please give Marcy your <u>notes</u>.

Dana painted the <u>bathroom</u> bright pink and aqua.
