Thomas goes out to eat at a restaurant and orders fajitas for $12.95 and orders a soft drink for $1.50. Tax is 7% on his total order, and Thomas plans to leave a 20% tip on the entire bill including tax. How much will his dinner cost including tax and tip?

Total order amount before tax and tip: $12.95 + $1.50 = $14.45
Total order amount after tax: $14.45 * 1.07 = $15.46(15)
Total order amount after tip: $15.46 * 1.20 = $18.55(2)
So Thomas' dinner in total including tax and tip will cost about $18.55
Total order amount after tax: $14.45 * 1.07 = $15.46(15)
Total order amount after tip: $15.46 * 1.20 = $18.55(2)
So Thomas' dinner in total including tax and tip will cost about $18.55

(12.95 + 1.50)*1.07*1.2 = .....
I can never understand why anybody would leave a tip on the tax.
