Write a balanced equation for the combustion of acetylene (C2H2). If a reaction consumes 15.9 L of acetylene, how many mol of carbon dioxide are produced? (Acetylene has a density of 1.097 g/L.)

2C2H2 + 5O2 ==> 4CO2 + 2H2O
grams C2H2 = volume x density = 15.9 L x 1.097 g/L = 17.4 g
mols = g/molar mass = 17.4/26 = 0.669
That will give you 2*669 = ? mols CO2
