We start with 4 boys and 4 girls, so the total number of children is: 4 + 4 = 8

Then 2 more children are added to make 10 children. If there are an equal number of boys and girls, divide the total number of children by 2: 10 / 2 = 5

There are five boys and five girls.

Hopefully this helped
