A triangle has sides that measure 12 inches, 15 inches, and 8 inches. Will this triangle be acute, right, or obtuse

help ya boy out I'm 1 week behind
It would be acute
How do I figure out if it's an acute I gotta show my work.
An acute angle is greater than 0 degrees but is less then 90° degrees. Acute angles are the smallest, being between (but not including) zero and 90° Also acute triangles are those where all the interior angles are acute. For example, think of a clock. A clock is a circle and a circle has 360 degrees. When the time on a clock shows 3 o'clock, the minute hand is on the 12 and the hour hand is on the 3. These hands are like the rays of an angle. If you look at the space between the minute and hour hands, it looks like a corner. This is a 90 degree angle, as it covers exactly 1/4 of the circle, or 90 degrees.
This is what I would say but switch up some of the words so that your teachers wont think that you got it from a website because they can see what website u have been on and could possibly get a 0%. Have a great day and stay safe :)

Also 12 + 25 + 8 = 35 plus a right angle is 80 degrees and obtuse is 120 degrees or higher so this could what u add to it.
Oops I meant 12 + 25 + 8 = 55
Okay bye I hope this helped have a great day and stay safe 😊
What a lot of nonsense, what does the perimeter
have to do with the size of the angles ?
Let's just find the largest angle using the cosine law:
(the largest angle will be opposite the largest side)
12 inches, 15 inches, and 8
15^2 = 12^2 + 8^2 - 2(12)(8)sinθ
sinθ = (144 + 64 - 225)/192 = -.0088..
θ = 95.08°
so the triangle is obtuse.

Is the angle between the 8 in side and the 12 in side greater or less than 90 degrees?
If 90 then the third side (hypotenuse) will be sqrt( 12^2+8^2) =sqrt(144+64)
= sqrt ( 208) = 14.4 inches
it is bigger than that, like 15 inches
Therefore that angle between the 8 in side and the 12 in side is MORE THAN 90 degrees. Therefore obtuse triangle.

Yes mathhelper, kind of irritated me as well.
Hi, what you are doing has nothing to do with the problem. An obtuse triangle has one ANGLE greater than 90 degrees. Mathelper and I showed that one of the angles is greater than 90 degrees.
Sorry I didn't know
but u didn't have to say it in a mean why tho :/
way*
But i hope you have a great day
