Sure, let me walk you through the solution to the question:
Harinder started with 6 identical cakes, and each cake was cut into 8 equal pieces. So, we have a total of 6 x 8 = 48 pieces of cake.
Out of these, 20 pieces were eaten. So, we are left with 48 - 20 = 28 pieces of cake.
Now, we need to express this as a mixed number. We know that each cake is divided into 8 equal pieces, so we can divide 28 by 8 to find out how many whole cakes are remaining.
28 รท 8 = 3 with a remainder of 4
So, we have 3 whole cakes remaining, and 4 pieces of cake left over. Each cake is divided into 8 pieces, so the 4 leftover pieces represent 4/8 or 1/2 of a cake.
Putting it all together, we have:
3 1/2 cakes remaining
