What is 2.17 increased by 0.0193%?

I've been confused about this because I tried to do it how you're supposed to, (% divided by # times 100) but it just turns back to the number before it, 0.89. Some help would be nice :D

2.17 * 1.000193 = 2.17041881

that doesn't make much sense to me, it's the same number when rounded up and increased by 0.0193??

I had ended up getting 4.19, which obviously isn't the correct answer based on how small the percent it needs to be increased by is.
