What volume of a 3.40 M sugar (molar mass: 180.0 g/mole) solution is needed to provide 5.00 grams of sugar? Answer includes two digits past the decimal.
I tried to work out the problem but it says my answer is wrong.
This is my work:
(5.00 g)(1 mol/180 g)(1 L/3.40 mol) =0.00816 L

I think you're right (I have 0.0081699 which I would round to 0.00817 L and that's the correct answer) but you didn't follow instructions. The problem tells you to display the answer to two digits past the decimal (which is more than confusing and makes no sense at all if the answer is to be in L). I think the author of the problem may have meant to display the answer to two digits past the decimal with the answer in mL. That would be 8.17 mL and makes more sense to me. Let me know when you find out.

You were correct. That was my mistake. Thank you.
