For problems 3-5 find the max or min and prove by y'' test.
3. y=-x^2+2x+5

Of course the day I had a doctor appointment and missed class was the day the professor forgot to record the lesson. So can someone please help me.

max or min if y' = 0
max if y" < 0, min if y" > 0

y' = -2x+2
y" = -2

Don't forget your Algebra I now that you're taking calculus. You know this is just a parabola that opens downward, so use that to verify your calculations.

I'm sure this is all explained in your text. Not sure why reading it here makes it any simpler ...
