Why is the expression 7^50 x 11^50 equal to 77^50?

log 77^50 = 50 log 77 = 50 ( log 7 + log 11) = 50 log 7 + 50 log 11
= log7^50+log 11^50

log 77^50 = 50 log 77 = 50 ( log 7 + log 11) = 50 log 7 + 50 log 11
= log7^50+log 11^50

as Damon's first example show, the commutative property of multiplication allows you to rearrange the 11's so they alternate with the 7's, giving you 50 pairs of 7*11 = 77^50
