if a "?" is placed next to the question number it means I don't have any idea what the answer is even when trying to solve it.

#2 Ever hear of writing fractions for real? Why write "over"?
x/4 - 5 = -8
x/4 = -3
x = -12

#3 ok. What made #2 so hard?

4 - 4x = -3x
4 = x

The ones you solved, you got right. Not sure what's bothering you on similar problems. Hang in there; it looks good so far.

x/4=-8+5=-3
x=-3(4)=...

2(2-2x) =-3x
4-4x=-3x
-4x+3x=-4
-x=-4 so x= ....

4. x = 4
