Okay, this isn’t a homework question I randomly came up with it but I don’t know how I should calculate it. So say someone has 108 billion dollars, and they buy something that’s 20 million dollars . What percent of the 108 billion did they spend?

You can put it down to the .00000 whatever it calculates to, also id like to know how you got that so then I understand that lol I really don’t know how this came to my head, I even asked my mom but she didn’t know how to calculate it so ?

If you know how many ending zeros are in 108 billion (108,000,000,000 - nine zeros) and in 20 million (20,000,000 - seven zeros) then you can remove the amount of zeros that both numbers share -this case, both share 7 ending zeros. 10,800 and 2.
Now just divide: 2/10800 = 0.00018518518

You can test out this theory by trying the original numbers and then this. You will get the same result.

Thanks Pat, have a good day
